Open baizeboard.com1 The Brief
Snooker clubs and players had no dedicated digital scoring tool built specifically for the sport. Existing options were either generic, unreliable, or required expensive dedicated hardware.
The client needed a full ecosystem — a web app that any device could run without installation, a native Android app for players who wanted it on their phone, a watch screen for referees and spectators, and a login system so players could track their performance over time.
The key constraints were reliability during competitive play, real-time sync across multiple devices, and everything working offline when internet access at a club was unreliable.
2 What I Built
- Full match setup — player names, frame count, and match configuration before play begins
- Real-time scoring with live sync across all connected devices simultaneously
- Watch companion app — players can enter scores directly from their wrist without walking back to the scoreboard mid-frame, keeping the game flowing naturally
- Native Android app — a purpose-built Android application available on the Google Play Store, with full offline support and a dedicated mobile experience
- Player login & accounts — secure authentication so players have their own profile across sessions and devices
- Stats & game history — match results, frame scores, and performance data logged per player so progress can be tracked over time
- Installable as a PWA — works fully offline once installed, with automatic reconnection and connection health monitoring
- Match save and resume — in-progress matches survive app restarts without data loss
The Result
A complete snooker scoring ecosystem — web, Android, and beyond.
BaizeBoard launched as a fully functional multi-platform ecosystem. The web app runs on any browser with no download required, the Android app brings it natively to mobile, and the watch companion lets players update the score from their wrist mid-frame without interrupting play to walk back to the scoreboard. Player accounts tie it all together — match history and stats persist across every platform, so players always have a record of their game.
